About the Role

This position requires a highly skilled and compassionate Disability Support Worker who can provide high-quality care and support to clients in their homes and community settings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing strategies to prevent and manage challenging behaviours.
  • Using de-escalation techniques to prevent and defuse situations of concern.
  • Managing difficult situations where participants exhibit unpredictable or challenging behaviour.
  • Providing personal care assistance, including bowel management, showering, meal preparation, and everyday activities.
  • Assisting, supporting, and chaperoning participants outside the home environment, which may include transportation.
  • Ensuring medication compliance, including dispensation of prescription medication.
  • Working collaboratively with treating teams and allied health professionals.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Proven experience in providing direct support to complex needs clients who require high levels of care, behaviour management, and physical assistance.
  • Strong manual handling skills, including hoist and wheelchair use.
  • Practical knowledge working with individuals with behaviours of concern, as well as experience across both physical and mental disabilities.
  • Basic administrative tasks, including daily progress notes and comprehensive handovers.
  • Ability to confidently report to management in case of any incidents or issues.

  • Passport and/or Visa (if applicable)
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • NDIS New Worker Induction Module
  • Any relevant qualifications such as Certificate, Degree and AHPRA registration.
