Job Title: Dementia Consultant

About the Role:

A fulfilling opportunity for a dedicated dementia professional to join our team on a fixed-term, full-time contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support families and caregivers to understand how dementia impacts individuals.
  • Equip carers and clinicians with knowledge and skills to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modelling, coaching, and resource development.
  • Provide recommendations that are relationship-centred and informed by evidence-based best practice.
  • Develop contextualised reports that effect change and improve quality of life for people living with dementia.
  • Conduct assessments to understand the holistic experience of individuals and their care networks.
  • Collaborate with our team to build capability across home and aged care sectors.
  • Contribute to research, projects, and programs, working innovatively to meet changing sector needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting people living with dementia and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals and their families.
  • Experience supporting older people, ideally within Australian residential and/or community aged care settings.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of negotiation, communication, and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Stakeholder management skills.
  • Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel.
  • Empathy and patience.
  • Relevant qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care, or Mental Health.
