Claims Governance Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance Framework structure and maintenance: Develop and implement a robust governance framework to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process and procedure capture, review, and updating: Responsible for capturing, reviewing, and updating process and procedure documents to ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Change management: Manage changes to process and procedure documents to ensure they are implemented smoothly.
  • Reporting requirements: Ensure that reporting requirements can be met through data capture and extraction.

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of regulatory environment: Proven knowledge and understanding of the existing regulatory environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role: Previous experience required with a proven track record in a similar role with ability to demonstrate capabilities within Insurance.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to solve problems and develop new ideas to improve working practices.
  • Strong customer service skills: Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Awareness of industry practices: Awareness of industry practices surrounding insurance claims management.
  • Technical skills: Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Packages – Excel, Word, Outlook etc and ability to use applications in a Windows environment.
  • Self-starter: Ability to be a self-starter, proactive and 'hit the ground running' from the outset.
  • Relationship-building skills: Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, brokers and clients.
  • Communication skills: Good communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Time management: Ability to handle multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines.
  • Team player: Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment.
