Job Title: Asia-Pacific Region Land Restoration Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced project manager to lead our efforts in the Asia-Pacific Region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing proposals for large-scale land restoration projects, working closely with investors, donors, and GEA members.
Key Responsibilities
- Proposal Development: Lead the development of proposals for large-scale land restoration projects in the Asia-Pacific Region, working with GEA's Business Development team to identify suitable funding opportunities and engage with donors/investors.
- Project Design: Identify and assess GEA members with the appropriate capacity to assist with proposal development and project implementation, coordinate the preparation of pre-feasibility and/or feasibility studies as required, and prepare and lead project design workshops in collaboration with other GEA teams and members.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with GEA members, ensuring a collaborative approach to proposal development and project implementation, and engaging with government stakeholders during project design to ensure awareness of relevant policies and priorities.
- Document Preparation: Ensure the timely production of high-quality project proposals, including project descriptions, logical frameworks, budgets, risk analyses, and similar deliverables, requiring coordination of inputs from GEA members and other teams within GEA, providing constructive feedback, and finalising documents for presentation to donors/investors.
- Due Diligence: Facilitate due diligence analysis on implementing partners by the donor/investor, as required, and facilitate the handover of the project to GEA's Implementation team once the proposal is approved.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage regularly with GEA members throughout the proposal design process, ensuring that deliverables and deadlines are clearly communicated and progress is monitored, and participate in initial discussions with project donors/investors, providing information and input as required for funding agreements, contracts, or similar documents.
Requirements
- Education: Tertiary qualification in international development, environmental science, agriculture, climate change, natural resource management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of three years experience with projects relating to rural development, agriculture, environmental conservation, ecosystem services, climate change mitigation, or similar.
- Skills: Demonstrated experience in writing proposals, tenders, bids, or similar documents for donors, investors, or other funders in an international development context, strong project and program design skills, excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, well-developed time management skills, and ability to prioritise tasks, manage heavy workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Language: Excellent spoken and written English skills.
Salary
$80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
