About the Role
The Gender Equality, Safeguarding and Inclusion (GESI) Advisor will play a pivotal role in our organisation, supporting MSI's country programs in the Asia and Pacific region to maximise opportunities to reach women, adolescents, people with disabilities, and diverse sexual orientation and gender identity individuals.
This position requires strong technical assistance skills, cultural competence, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing GEDSI capacity strengthening, developing strategies, policies, and work plans, and building strategic networks and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead GEDSI Capacity Strengthening: Support country programs to assess their GEDSI capacity, design and deliver capacity strengthening initiatives, and facilitate a GEDSI community of practice among GEDSI leads.
- Provide GEDSI Technical Assistance: Support country programs to develop and implement GEDSI strategies at a project and organisational level, and develop tools, frameworks, and resources to support strategy implementation.
- Build Networks and Partnerships: Build strategic networks and partnerships that support GEDSI-related advocacy and programming goals.
- Support Institutional Fundraising: Contribute to proposal design, lead gender marker assessments, review proposals, and field GEDSI-related questions from prospective donors.
- Safeguarding Compliance and Support: Keep up-to-date on safeguarding compliance requirements, advise leadership on implications, and lead safeguarding assessments and periodic reviews.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess relevant lived experience, cultural competence, and strong technical assistance skills. They will also have 5+ years of experience providing GEDSI technical assistance, working with local partners, and developing and implementing safeguarding policies and practices.
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum
