Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Amazon Full time

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Robotics Engineering Project Manager to lead our expansion efforts in the Asia Pacific region. As part of Amazon's continued growth, this role will play a pivotal part in managing capacity, capital planning, and project execution for our Australian and Japanese fulfillment networks.

As a key member of our team, you will define and drive strategy, while being detail-oriented and agile to manage business changes and keep driving initiatives. You will conduct regular meetings with internal teams and vendors to plan and track deliverables, deploying technology innovations and solutions as needed. Your projects will be focused in the Asia Pacific region, serving Amazon's Fulfillment Transportation and Delivery network, with opportunities to support projects globally.

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a talented team, diving into challenging technical problems to deliver Amazon's leading-edge robotics technologies in its fulfillment, transportation, and delivery network. This role requires a unique combination of engineering know-how, problem-solving, curiosity, innovation, leadership, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mastering the details of Amazon fulfillment center design, including processes involved with modeling, budgeting, and managing the deployment of new fulfillment centers in Japan and Australia.
  • Providing leadership across the full spectrum of project delivery, including managing build specifications and pre-contract work, inspiring internal teams, and maintaining vendor relations.
  • Utilizing the critical path to build effective partnerships with key stakeholders and helping other teams deliver network capacity on time.
  • Defining, driving, and simplifying project delivery and business processes.
  • Identifying and seizing opportunities to innovate on behalf of our customers.

A Day in the Life:

You will interact daily with various teams and individuals at all levels of the organization and in multiple time zones. You'll liaise with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the organization, diving deep to understand the technologies we deploy, and build on these relationships to help refine and improve our deployments and processes. While your main focus will be across Asia Pacific, you may find yourself supporting projects in other parts of the world.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Conversant with leading-edge technology, including software, hardware, and robotics.
  • Experienced in leading teams through setup and configuration of software, hardware, and robotics projects.
  • Ability to perform onsite hardware and software support during initial system deployment.
  • Proven experience leading overall end-to-end project delivery, including resources, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), schedule, and vendor management.
  • Committed to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
  • Willingness to travel 75% of the year.
  • Business-level Japanese and English language proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level.
  • Experience working with and managing third-party vendors.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
