Job Description

As a seasoned risk professional, you will play a pivotal role in our Counterparty Exposure (CPE) team within Institutional Credit Management (ICM), ensuring the precise measurement and control of counterparty risk for institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Approve credit reviews as a first line of defense approver, assessing portfolio risk, liquidity of client positions, credit limits, and risk appetite ratios.
  • Maintain and manage credit exposures to clients across derivatives, financing, and direct lending products.
  • Advise and approve large transactions or deals that require individual risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with Risk colleagues on risk mitigation at both inception of transactions and on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor client portfolios to ensure risks are controlled, primarily credit risk arising from market-sensitive exposure and liquidity risk.
  • Work with Sales trading and clients to analyze client portfolios, propose counterparty risk limits, and work with Credit risk management on getting limits approved.
  • Perform daily and weekly risk analysis and reporting on existing client portfolios, as well as customized risk analysis on new client portfolios.
  • Communicate key findings to senior management.
  • Work with business managers and In-Business Risk teams on margin model development, new product approvals, and real-time monitoring and controls.
  • Analyze the control environment, including periodic review of controls, vetting of new systems, processes, policies, and procedures associated with market and/or credit risk.
  • Utilize risk management tools for the measurement, monitoring, and management of exposure.
  • Represent the department to various independent risk teams, auditors, and regulatory agencies on issues related to counterparty risk and controls.
