Our team seeks a seasoned Senior Underwriter to join our Counterparty Exposure team. This critical role involves assessing, monitoring, and managing counterparty risk for institutional clients, ensuring risks are accurately measured and controlled in line with our firm's risk policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Approve credit reviews as the first line of defense, including portfolio risk assessment, client position liquidity, credit limits, and risk appetite ratios.
  • Maintain and manage credit exposures across derivatives, financing, and direct lending products.
  • Advise and approve large transactions or deals requiring individual risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with Risk colleagues on risk mitigation at transaction inception and ongoing basis.
  • Monitor client portfolios to ensure risks are effectively managed, primarily focusing on credit risk arising from market-sensitive exposure and liquidity risk.
  • Analyze client portfolios with Sales trading and clients, proposing counterparty risk limits and working with Credit risk management for limit approvals.
  • Perform daily and weekly risk analysis and reporting on existing client portfolios and customized risk analysis on new client portfolios.
  • Communicate key findings to senior management.
  • Work with business managers and In-Business Risk teams on margin model development, new product approvals, and real-time monitoring and controls.
  • Analyze the control environment, including periodic review of the control environment, vetting of new systems, processes, policies, and procedures associated with market and/or credit risk.
  • Utilize risk management tools for exposure measurement, monitoring, and management.
  • Represent the department to independent risk teams, auditors, and regulatory agencies on counterparty risk and controls issues.
