Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Parliamentary and Events Officer to join our team at the APS5 level. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to achieving accuracy, thoroughness, quality, and timeliness, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Parliamentary section, including monitoring and actioning Parliamentary inbox and management of Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS).
- Provide administrative support to the CEO and other executives.
- Coordinate briefs and ministerial correspondence, for both internal and external purposes.
- Draft, proofread, and format style, including ministerial correspondence and briefing correspondence.
- Coordinate events, including briefing, liaison, and logistics.
- Manage and coordinate Senate Estimates, Question Time Briefs, and Questions on Notice.
- Assist with the tabling of documents in Parliament.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to liaise with staff and other external stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
- Understanding of Parliamentary processes and legislative requirements (desirable but not a requirement).
- Proficient IT skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of software packages.
