We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Officer to join our team at the Parliament of Australia. As part of our Mechanical Services team, you will be responsible for contributing to the overall service delivery of our Business Unit by undertaking tasks including preventive, emergency and corrective maintenance.

The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate physical capacity to perform a range of duties including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders and lifting heavy tools/equipment. You must also be well presented, neat and tidy at all times, professionally courteous and abide by our Parliamentary Service Values and Codes of Conduct.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, both internal and external to the Parliament, in a dynamic work environment where priorities and deadlines frequently change. You will also be required to undertake a medical assessment to determine fitness-for-duty prior to appointment.

We offer a competitive salary range of $83,229 - $95,311 per annum, plus an additional 17% allowance entitlement. Our benefits include access to flexible work arrangements, ongoing opportunities to learn and develop new capabilities, and a comprehensive remuneration package.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Undertaking all work requiring the application of trade skills relating to operations and maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, and fixtures & fittings
  • Assisting in the guidance and direction of staff to effectively complete planned and emergency work
  • Reporting and recording completed tasks and additional required maintenance to management through our computerised Maintenance Management system
