
Senior Community Disaster Recovery Officer

We are seeking a skilled Community Recovery Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our disaster response unit, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and supporting local activities with key partner agencies in response to disaster events, incidents, or crises.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Community Recovery Plans: Create and execute comprehensive community recovery plans to ensure effective preparation and response to disasters.
- Collaborate with Local Stakeholders: Work closely with local councils, government departments, and non-government organisations to enhance human and social recovery efforts.
- Provide Strategic Advice: Offer expert guidance and support to senior leaders in the management of community recovery services.
- Evaluate Disaster Events: Analyse disaster events to identify service gaps and inform continuous improvements in disaster recovery efforts.
To Succeed in this Role:
- Strong Understanding of Disaster Management Systems: Possess a deep understanding of Queensland's disaster management system.
- Community Building Experience: Have experience in community building, resilience planning, and disaster recovery.
- Excellent Stakeholder Engagement Skills: Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
