
Community Recovery Grants Officer Rebuild Support

As a Community Recovery Grants Officer (Rebuild Support) within Grants Administration, you will spend your day strategically coordinating and supporting uninsured homeowners who have had their primary place of residence impacted or destroyed by disaster events.
The Community Recovery Grants Officer (Rebuild Support) will form part of the team dedicated to enhancing the customer experience for Structural Assistance Grant (SAG) applicants, ensuring timely, consistent, and effective support for applicants navigating complex rebuilds of their home.
Operating within a dynamic and evolving disaster recovery landscape, the role requires you to have input into the strategic direction of the team across multiple grant programs for different disaster events.
As a Community Recovery Grants Officer (Rebuild Support) you will:
- Contribute to improving the customer experience for SAG applicants by supporting the implementation of customer service best practices, helping ensure clear, compassionate, and efficient assistance.
- Assist in developing case management approaches for complex SAG applications, including supporting pathways for psycho-social support, securing
- Facilitate clear communication between SAG applicants, local councils, builders, trades, suppliers, government agencies, and community organisations.
- Represent the department at interagency meetings and forums. Strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, community organisations, and industry partners, to enhance service coordination and applicant support.
- Help track and review recipient experiences to identify patterns and support ongoing improvements in service delivery and community outcomes.
- Assist in identifying operational risks and contribute to the preparation of advice that helps balance business goals with policy and framework compliance.
- Prepare and present accurate reports, event specific work plans, business cases, briefings, and submissions to support informed decision-making and program enhancements.
- Maintain documentation to support the re-build processes in accordance with Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) guidelines, Community Recovery and local government policies and procedures.
- Other relevant duties as directed and required.
There are no mandatory requirements for this role however the following will be highly regarded:
- experience in a similar role and having an in depth understanding of Queensland's Disaster Management Arrangements and recovery principles.
- demonstrable experience in project and/or case management within a statutory framework.
