Disability Inclusion Specialist

The Disability Inclusion Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring students with disabilities, health conditions, or mental health challenges have equal access to education at The Gordon. This position requires collaboration with students, staff, and external support services to provide inclusive practices, facilitate reasonable adjustments, and negotiate alternative assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with The Gordon community to promote best practices in inclusion and accessibility.
- Facilitate reasonable adjustments and alternative assessments to support student success.
- Provide guidance and advice to prospective students on course requirements and application processes.
- Engage with students regularly through face-to-face meetings, phone, or video consultations to ensure ongoing support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, staff, and external support networks.
- Liaise with external service providers to enhance student outcomes.
- Deliver presentations at information sessions, promoting inclusive practices and available support services.
To succeed in this role, you will need exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Your understanding of diverse learning needs, combined with strong relationship-building skills, will ensure positive outcomes for students. Experience working in education or disability support will be highly regarded.
