Job Overview

The Chief Engineer position is a key role within the organization, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vessels.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering and possess excellent leadership skills to supervise Engineering Officers effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the operation, maintenance, and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard.
  • Supervise and mentor Engineering Officers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor vessel performance and optimize operations to minimize costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations.
Requirements:
  • Hold a valid Marine Order 72 – Engineer class 1 certificate.
  • Be in possession of a Chief Engineer (Class 1) CoC/CoR Unlimited.
  • Have a minimum of 12 months sea time as a First Engineer.
  • Possess a Certificate of Safety Training (STCW III/2) and relevant certifications.
  • Be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
  • Be an Australian citizen or hold unlimited Australian working rights.
