Job Opportunity:

The position of Training Captain is designed for licensed captains seeking to gain experience in ASD operations or vessel familiarization, with the goal of qualifying for check-off as an operator.

  • Responsibilities include planning and executing vessel assignments efficiently and safely, implementing operating plans in a cost-effective manner, and evaluating and reporting results.
  • Maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, and documentation in the Safety Management System Manual (SMS) is also essential.
  • Conducting required drills, training sessions, safety meetings, and maintaining records according to company policy are critical tasks.
  • Collaboration with customers, pilots, and relevant government agencies ensures proper job performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring safe navigation at all times is paramount.
  • Directing and supervising crew members in safe and productive operation of the vessel, its machinery, and equipment is crucial.
  • Evaluating crewmembers according to company policy and taking necessary actions is vital.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of maritime laws is essential.

Requirements:

  • A USCG Master 200/500/1600 Oceans or Near Coastal license, Master of Towing, STCW, Radar Endorsement, MMC, and TWIC must be possessed and maintained.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Master or Operating Mate on towing vessels is required.
  • A valid state driver's license is mandatory.
