Austin Health is seeking a dynamic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our ICYMHS Directorate. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in linking the Emergency services with the ICYMHS service and with general Consultation Liaison services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and clinical governance to the front-end services for children and youth at Austin's Mental Health Division
- Interface with the Consultant Psychiatrist Liaison to the Emergency Department
- Join a multidisciplinary team of highly passionate, experienced, supportive and collaborative mental health professionals
- Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or equivalent
- Must hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC Check) in compliance with the Working with Children Act 2005
- Have an interest in access, frontline assessment and Liaison Psychiatry settings
- Have an interest in child and youth mental health
- Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care
- Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe and quality care across the continuum
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training and research
