
Aboriginal Workforce Development Professional

Aboriginal Workforce Development is a vital component of our organization's strategy to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people on the Central Coast.
This role plays a key part in leading change, providing district-wide leadership, guidance and coordination of employment initiatives that increase attraction, retention and ongoing employment opportunities for Aboriginal people.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the local Aboriginal communities' needs and priorities, as well as the ability to translate strategy into action in culturally safe, respectful and inclusive ways.
About the Role:
This is a senior position within our People & Culture team, responsible for developing and implementing employment pathways into health for community. You will bring cultural integrity and expert knowledge to how we attract, develop and support our people, and strengthen our teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a strong and growing Aboriginal Workforce Development Unit that's leading change.
- Provide leadership, guidance and end-to-end coordination of employment initiatives that increase attraction, retention and ongoing employment opportunities for Aboriginal people.
- Partner with individuals, teams and services to foster growth, development and cultural safety of Aboriginal employees and students across the District.
- Partner with community, external organisations and education institutions to build support for Aboriginal employment programs.
- Influence talent management and succession planning to ensure sustainability, diversity and cultural inclusion.
- Support our strategic priority of increasing Aboriginal workforce participation to best reflect and support our community.
- Contribute to building a workforce where everyone understands their role in closing the gap.
