Arch is seeking a skilled Senior Underwriter to join their team. This role involves underwriting new and existing business within set guidelines, authority levels, and service standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the Australian insurance regulatory and compliance environment, sound analytical skills, and the ability to prioritise while maintaining attention to detail.

The successful applicant will be responsible for mentoring and developing underwriters, reporting to senior management, and collaborating effectively with other business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite within company policy and underwriting standards
  • Prepare reports on portfolio performance and maintain credit control of business within the portfolio
  • Participate in audits and compliance requirements
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete
  • Develop and execute new business opportunities
  • Work with senior underwriters and management on future product development

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software
  • An organised and methodical approach to working practices
  • Extensive knowledge of Australian insurance regulatory and compliance environment
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Enthusiasm and desire to learn and contribute as part of a team
