Job Opportunity

Our hotel is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Sous Chef.

Location: W Sydney, 31 Wheat Road, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 2000

Schedule: Full Time; Position Type: Management

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the culinary leadership to achieve daily objectives of the culinary department
  • Works with Restaurant and Banquet departments to coordinate service and timing of events and meals
  • Leads shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications
  • Participates in employee performance appraisal process, giving feedback as needed
  • Supervises and mentoring staffing to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
  • Participates in department meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results
  • Purchases appropriate supplies and manages food and supply inventories according to budget constraints
  • Performs all duties of culinary and related kitchen area talent in high demand times
Requirements
  • Working experience in a large/luxury full-service hotel
  • Knowledge and understanding in Australian/European cuisine
  • Excellent time management & communication skills
  • Basic administrative and computer skills
