As an Inclusive Education Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning needs of students with diverse abilities. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating tailored educational plans and fostering a supportive environment that promotes academic excellence and social growth.
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill this position, which offers a competitive salary range of $104,000 - $136,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
This role involves working closely with teachers and support staff to design and implement personalised learning plans for students with diverse learning needs. You will work across the 7-12 age range, utilising your expertise in inclusive education to advocate for and support students who require additional assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with class teachers to develop innovative learning activities and strategies to engage students with diverse learning needs.
- Create, implement, and monitor Personalised Plans (PPs) for students, ensuring effective communication with parents and carers.
- Design and deliver adjustments as outlined in student PPs, promoting equitable treatment and opportunities for all learners.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to differentiate learning and assessment tasks, enhancing student outcomes and engagement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, catering to individual learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies to meet their diverse needs and promote academic achievement.
- Cultivate the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning for students with diverse needs.
- Manage student documentation, analyse data, and contribute to moderation processes, ensuring compliance with relevant education standards.
Qualifications:
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW.
- Bachelor's degree in Inclusive Education or extensive experience in the field.
- Strong understanding of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and its application in educational settings.
- Familiarity with the National Consistency in State Teaching for Students with Disabilities (NCCD) process and its implications for student support and reporting.
- Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs, with excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
