Support Teacher for Students with Diverse Learning Needs

SalaryThe estimated annual salary for this position is AU$65,000 - AU$85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job DescriptionThis permanent, full-time role involves working as part of a holistic team across K-12 to support students who have been identified as having specific learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers and the diverse learning teacher to implement learning adjustments and provide scheduled in-class support within an inclusive learning environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to use technology in various formats. Experience working with students who have a vision impairment would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement learning adjustments in consultation with the classroom teacher and the diverse learning teacher.
- Provide physical assistance to students in areas such as mobility, eating, and personal hygiene.
- Supervise and support students during scheduled breaks.
- Assist with exam and assessment provisions, including reading and writing support.
- Organise specialist equipment and aids as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Certificate 3 or 4 in Education Support.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
- The ability to use technology in various formats.
