Position Overview:

This role presents an exceptional opportunity to enhance your expertise, acquire new skills, and gain practical experience. As a Network Planning Engineer specializing in the Electricity Grid, you will be responsible for both short-term and long-term power system planning, as well as the development of Jemena's electricity network to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and affordable energy while promoting sustainable performance for all customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of power systems, evaluate network development options, and prepare scopes for significant customer connection projects.
  • Engage in strategic area planning utilizing probabilistic methods, risk assessments, and cost-benefit evaluations, along with report writing and presentations.
  • Perform feasibility studies for power system projects.
  • Prepare Regulatory Investment Tests (RIT-D) and assist in the creation of the Distribution Annual Planning Report and Transmission Connection Planning Report.
  • Assess technical aspects of load and embedded generation connection projects.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in the electrical sector, particularly in Asset Management.
  • Proficient in electricity network power system software such as PSS/E and/or PSCAD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory framework, including its obligations and instruments (e.g., NER, EDCoP, Australian Standards).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on power systems being advantageous.
