About the Role

As a Senior Network Planning Engineer (Electricity Grid), you will play a critical role in leading the short to long-term power system planning and development of Jemena's electricity network to deliver safe, reliable, affordable energy, and sustainable performance for all customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform power system assessment, network development options, and scope preparation for major customer connection projects.
  • Strategic area planning using probabilistic planning, risk, and cost-benefit economic evaluation assessments and report writing and presentations.
  • Perform power system feasibility study assessments.
  • Prepare Regulatory Investment Tests (RIT-D and RIT-T) and contribute to the Distribution Annual Planning Report and Transmission Connection Planning Report preparation.
  • Technical assessment of large embedded generation connection projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to network planning team members.

Requirements

  • Experience in the electrical industry with short to long-term system planning experience.
  • Proficiency in using electricity network power system software such as PSS/E and/or PSCAD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework, its obligations, and instruments (such as NER, EDCo P, Australian Standards).
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or higher in Electrical Engineering (power system discipline is desirable).
