About the Role

As a Network Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading the development of the electricity supply network to safely meet supply requirements, optimize costs, capacity, network performance, and network losses.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Implement Electrical Engineering Solutions: Develop and implement electrical engineering solutions for various projects, ensuring they meet the company's standards and regulations.
  2. Conduct Engineering Analyses and Evaluations: Conduct thorough engineering analyses and evaluations of electrical systems to identify areas for improvement and optimize network performance.
  3. Prepare Technical Reports and Presentations: Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate complex engineering concepts to stakeholders.
  4. Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with the latest electrical engineering standards and technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of industry innovation.
Requirements
  1. 3+ Years of Experience in Electrical Engineering: Possess a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on distribution networks.
  2. Strong Working Knowledge of Distribution Networks: Have a thorough understanding of distribution networks, zone substations, and operations.
  3. Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date on network planning standards and technical developments in the electricity industry.
  4. IT System Proficiency: Have detailed knowledge of IT systems used for network planning purposes, including load flow packages.
  5. Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  6. Team Player: Be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
Qualifications and Certifications
  1. Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering: Hold tertiary qualifications and/or higher in engineering.
  2. Membership to Engineers Australia: Be entitled to membership to Engineers Australia.
  3. Higher Qualification in Technical or Business Field: Possess a higher qualification in a technical or business-related field (desirable).
