About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience, learn, and develop your skills and knowledge on the job as a Network Planning Engineer (Electricity Grid). Your role will involve short to long-term power system planning and development of Jemena's electricity network to deliver safe, reliable, affordable energy and sustainable performance for all customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform power system assessment, network development options, and scope preparation for major customer connection projects.
- Strategic area planning using probabilistic planning, risk and cost-benefit economic evaluation assessments, and report writing and presentations.
- Perform power system feasibility study assessments.
- Prepare Regulatory Investment Tests (RIT-D) and contribute to the Distribution Annual Planning Report and Transmission Connection Planning Report preparation.
- Technical assessment of load and embedded generation connection projects.
- Experience in the electrical industry with Asset Management experience.
- Proficiency in using electricity network power system software such as PSS/E and/or PSCAD.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework, its obligations, and instruments (such as NER, EDCoP, Australian Standards).
- Tertiary qualifications and/or higher in Electrical Engineering (power system discipline is desirable).
