About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Distribution Network Strategy & Planning team in Southbank. As a Senior Engineer Network Planning, you will play a crucial role in planning the electricity network that serves 802,000 customers across eastern and north-eastern Victoria, as well as Melbourne's northern and eastern suburbs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead comprehensive planning processes to assess network capabilities, identify areas of limitation, and develop network solution and contingency plans.
  • Simplify complex engineering analysis for non-engineers and develop procedures for control room operations.
  • Understand current and emerging non-network solutions required to reduce network demand and generation, and identify the appropriate solution(s) to address the needs of the network and customers.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification and experience in Engineering, with a strong understanding of contemporary electricity network planning, asset management practices, and overarching markets.
  • Proficiency in using electricity network analysis tools or relevant software, and interpreting results. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously from conception to implementation, and realising program objectives.
  • Sound knowledge of National Electricity Rules, the energy markets, and relevant laws, regulations, rules, licences, and agreements.
