Position Overview:
This role presents a remarkable opportunity to enhance your experience and develop your expertise in the field. As a Network Planning Engineer specializing in the Electricity Grid, you will engage in both short-term and long-term power system planning, contributing to the development of Jemena's electricity network to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy delivery while promoting sustainable practices for all customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of power systems, evaluate network development options, and prepare scopes for significant customer connection initiatives.
- Engage in strategic area planning utilizing probabilistic methodologies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit evaluations, alongside report writing and presentations.
- Perform feasibility studies for power system projects.
- Prepare Regulatory Investment Tests (RIT-D) and assist in the creation of the Distribution Annual Planning Report and Transmission Connection Planning Report.
- Conduct technical evaluations of load and embedded generation connection projects.
Candidate Profile:
- Demonstrated experience in the electrical sector, particularly in Asset Management.
- Proficient in electricity network power system software such as PSS/E and/or PSCAD.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the regulatory framework, including its obligations and instruments (such as NER, EDCoP, Australian Standards).
- Possession of tertiary qualifications or higher in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on power systems being advantageous.
