We are seeking an experienced Employment Services Coordinator to join our team at the Asylum Seekers Center. This is a part-time position, based in Newtown on a fixed term contract of up to 6 months.

Job Summary

This role will focus on supporting people seeking asylum in the ASESS program by helping them develop suitable career paths and providing tools for sustainable and skilled employment.

Salary Information

The base salary for this position is $43 - $47 per hour, with opportunities for salary packaging to boost take-home pay.

About the Role
  • Case manage clients, developing Job Search Plans and achieving employment goals using a person-centred, strengths-based approach
  • Supervise the volunteer-run Employment Hub, ensuring great client experience and high-quality service delivery
  • Provide feedback to clients and volunteers to improve job search
  • Identify opportunities for clients and plan next steps
  • Link candidates with local employers and businesses
  • Help individuals access information about establishing their own business
  • Identify relevant employment and training opportunities
  • Guide volunteers in post-placement support for clients and employers
Requirements
  • Experience in recruitment, training, human resources, or business development
  • Ability to motivate and support volunteers and people seeking asylum
  • Strong understanding of issues affecting people seeking asylum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to think innovatively and creatively
  • Positive attitude and commitment to learning and improvement
