About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our team at Crawford & Company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compliance and auditing, with experience in the financial services industry.

As a Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our organization is compliant with regulatory requirements and industry standards. This will involve conducting audits, preparing reports, and developing recommendations for improvements.

You will work closely with internal teams to ensure understanding and adherence to regulatory obligations. Your highly collaborative nature and exceptional communication skills will allow you to easily work across multiple business units and cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in regulatory auditing or compliance within financial services (e.g., insurance, banking, casinos, or similar sectors).
  • Relationship building skills and credibility to interact with and influence the business.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify compliance gaps and risks, with the ability to present findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, through detailed reports and/or presentations.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance standards and practices in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and practices.
  • Strong engagement skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity reporting into the Senior Manager – Licensing. The preferred location is Adelaide, however, we are open to a remote arrangement for the right person. We estimate a salary range of $90,000-$120,000 AUD per annum, depending on experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct comprehensive audits to assess compliance with the Australian Financial Services Licence and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and compliance status.
  • Develop and present recommendations for improvements to enhance compliance and operational processes.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the organisation's compliance framework.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure understanding and adherence to regulatory obligations.
  • Support training and awareness initiatives related to compliance and audit practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of audit activities and compliance efforts.
  • Assist in the preparation for external audits and client or regulatory inspections.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to ongoing compliance strategy development.
  • Support the Global Compliance Office on tasks as directed.
