About the Role

Develop optical systems for quantum sensors to assist scientific advancement and make technology work robustly in the field.

Work closely with research scientists to model, design, construct, and test ruggedised and miniaturised optical systems for onboard deployment.

Join a growing team focused on quantum sensing for defence and aerospace, working with experts in fields such as cold-atom interferometry, magnetometry, and inertial navigation.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design high-precision measurement systems with physicists, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Be part of the team responsible for integration, testing, and validation of newly commissioned sensors.
  • Conduct critical quantum sensing field trials with industry partners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in physics or related field.
  • Experience designing free-space optical designs, including analysis, tolerancing, alignment, and validation.
  • Proficiency using ZEMAX software.
  • Expertise in precise optical alignment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience using CAD software like Inventor.
  • Proficiency with ZEMAX API and Python.
  • Experience with micro optics and fiber optics.
