We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Governance and Public Officer. This key role will involve liaison with the public, management of governance and procurement systems, and compliance with statutory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain effective governance policies, processes, and procedures that meet statutory legislation.
  2. Manage customer access to information through formal and informal applications.
  3. Oversee the development of governance policy framework and monitor organizational practices to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in decision-making.
  4. Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, business papers, minutes, and coordinate setup of Council Chambers. Attend all council meetings and workshops as required.
  5. Provide support, guidance, and training to elected officials on their statutory obligations and assist with reporting requirements.
  6. Manage an efficient customer handling and tracking system for complaints and enquiries.
Requirements:
  1. More than 10 years of experience in a similar role with broad managerial responsibilities.
  2. A degree in Law, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  3. Extensive experience in governance and procurement, preferably within local government.
  4. Demonstrated experience in implementing governance frameworks, managing compliance, and overseeing meeting protocols, with strong technical, analytical, and investigative skills.
