Job Title: Banquets Event Manager

Overview: Mercure Melbourne Doncaster is a 183 room & suite hotel that offers approachable elegance in an untouched pocket of the Eastern Suburbs. As a Banquets Event Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operational running of social, wedding and corporate events.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the Event Operations once BEOs are handed over from Event Sales Team;
  • Responsible for ensuring strong communication relationships with the Events Sales team;
  • Required to perform duties in the restaurants in the absence of bookings for the events spaces;
  • Support & provide training and development to the Food & Beverage team;
  • Have a keen understanding of weddings, corporate and social events;
  • Support the Food & Beverage Manager in managing labour costs in line with budgets & forecasts;
  • Address & resolve all event-related guests' grievances and escalate when required.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is advantageous;
  • Exceptional guest service skills and passion for delivering all event types to the highest standards;
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills;
  • Effective team player and ability to manage your own time efficiently;
  • You have to be a problem solver and have the ability to think on your feet to meet guests changing needs;
  • High level of attention to detail and organisation;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people.
