Job Description:

Mental Health Nurse - Assertive Outreach Team

This is a Category A position within NSW Health, requiring applicants to provide evidence of vaccination as per NSW Health's Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy.

The successful applicant will join the Assertive Outreach Teams, providing care-coordinated services to consumers diagnosed with severe and enduring mental illness, who require an enhanced level of support to sustain living in the community.

The Mental Health Nurse will be responsible for providing discipline-specific assessments and interventions, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide contemporary mental health practice, utilising evidenced-based approaches to assess and address the needs of consumers.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans, ensuring continuity of care across settings.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines that promote best practice in mental health care.

Requirements:

  • Recognised tertiary nursing qualifications and registration with AHPRA.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
  • Demonstrated competencies in providing contemporary mental health practice.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this role is $73,971.20 - $103,302.40 per annum, based on a 38-hour week, plus annual leave loading and superannuation.
