Mental Health Specialist Nurse

Community Mental Health Services at NSW Government provide a range of innovative services designed to support the recovery and well-being of consumers in the community. The team offers specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people, including a dedicated Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers, and Peer Support Workers.
The Community Mental Health/Core Team model of care is the mainstay of the community mental health system. Core Teams provide clinical services, including intake, assessment, consultation, treatment, and care coordination. Care coordination is a key component of this model, encompassing extended care coordination, targeted packages of care, and short-term care coordination.
Croydon Core Team runs a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for eligible consumers of the service.
Consumers under the care of Core Teams may receive:
- Short-term interventions, followed by discharge or referral to their General Practitioners or other treatment providers.
- Treatment as recommended by evidence-based practices.
- Ongoing care and monitoring for prolonged periods.
As a Mental Health Specialist Nurse, you will practice in accordance with the standardized Sydney LHD position description for the profession, as well as this position description.
Requirements- Current nursing registration with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated competencies to provide contemporary mental health practice.
- Current NSW Driver's License (P1 and P2 acceptable).
- Accrued Day Off each month (for full-time roles), paid Parental Leave, and Annual Leave loading.
