Job Description:

Culturally appropriate health services are provided to Aboriginal patients and their families at Royal Darwin Palmerston Hospitals.

  • Interpreting service is provided for Aboriginal patients and their families.
  • Cultural brokerage enables Aboriginal patients and their families to engage with healthcare services.
  • Confidentiality of patients accessing Royal Darwin Palmerston Hospitals is maintained.

The role contributes to culturally appropriate health service provision, including providing language services, cultural brokerage, education, advocacy, and support to Aboriginal patients and staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To provide interpreting services for Aboriginal patients and their families.
  2. To act as a cultural broker to facilitate engagement with healthcare services.
  3. To maintain the confidentiality and privacy of patients accessing the hospital.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
