About the Role

As a seasoned Digital Delivery Director, you will be responsible for leading a consistent and ongoing approach to prioritization, planning, forecasting, managing uncertainty, reporting, dependencies, risks & issues management, contingency planning, and road mapping of products and initiatives. This role requires full accountability of E2E delivery, supporting functional stream leads and product managers in defining detailed delivery plans and reporting assumptions and progress to key stakeholders while maintaining the cadence of delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scope Management: Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define requirements, scope, and product backlogs, then manage scope and expectations. Utilize problem-solving skills to identify and suggest improvements to current approaches or practices. Support various phases of product or initiative delivery and contribute to, plan, or help productionize these.
  • Planning: Develop comprehensive implementation plans to deliver initiatives according to performance measures and achieve business outcomes. Work closely with Product Owners and Engineering Leads to determine and guide the appropriate makeup and distribution of team members in delivery teams.
  • Schedule Management: Create and use schedules to manage multiple streams of work across multiple squads, including external dependencies and impacts. Implement dependency management processes.
  • Financial Management: Support effective budget management within project constraints by monitoring projected budgets against expenditure. Establish estimates and manage financials for programs, product, or multiple streams. Analyze and forecast budget impacts for complex scenarios. Develop Business Cases, including financial cases, for technical solutions to business problems.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to identify and manage risks and issues. Establish Risk and Issue Management Plans. Understand and manage risks external to the project.
  • Team Management: Establish and manage diverse and dispersed teams. Provide opportunities for capability development of resources. Establish and maintain Resource Plans.
  • Governance: Manage steering committees with senior stakeholders. Ensure appropriate reporting, governance, and control functions are implemented. Ability to consume data and articulate actionable insights from this data in a language understood by the business.
  • Agile Ceremonies: Facilitate and lead Agile ceremonies, feature, and story mapping (focus on BDD), Backlog grooming, feature elaboration, sprint planning, sprint review, and retro.
  • Reporting: Preparation of dashboards and metrics to support delivery, including velocity, cycle time, burndown, fix version reports.
  • Lead our Agile Culture: Champion Agile ways of working and coach teams in the mind-shift towards working in an Agile manner. Ensure alignment against Agile best practice while driving business outcomes. Contribute to our Continuous Delivery culture.
About You and Your Skills

We're looking for someone with strong experience in project management or Scrum Master roles, particularly in medium to large complexity digital projects greater than $2m. A tertiary degree relating to Technology, Project Management, Digital Marketing, or relevant fields is desirable. Formal Project Management accreditation, such as Diploma of PM, CPPM/Reg PM, PMP, Prince2, or Agile, is also desired.

A successful candidate will have managed components of large-scale technology or digital rollouts and possess an advanced understanding of Agile values, principles, methods, and techniques. Strong workshop facilitation skills, including Agile ceremonies, product discoveries, and similar events, are essential. Self-motivation, mentoring, and team leadership skills are also required.
