About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Director to lead our Channel Services team in driving digital transformation across the organization. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned technology leader to join our Digital function and play a key role in shaping the future of our business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple squads of technologists, ensuring they deliver projects and products aligned with our business objectives. They will also provide clear business requirements, promote agile methodologies, and coach teams to achieve continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead multiple engineering squads to deliver projects and products aligned with Coles business objectives
  • Provide clear business requirements and translate them into actionable items of work for the squads
  • Promote agile methodologies and continuous improvements while coaching and supporting the squads
  • Plan, create, and execute delivery roadmaps structured based on actual business requirements
  • Implement systems of work for the squads, including agile ceremonies
  • Coordinate dependencies and sequence Epics and Stories to ensure consistent delivery of value
  • Owning quality and managing incidents and escalations
About You and Your Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 3 years' experience leading highly skilled backend engineering teams and delivering large programs of work
  • Deep experience in high-performance teams, using agile methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working in complex system architectures, operations, and support structures
  • Experience delivering outcomes as part of a cross-functional group, using onshore/offshore delivery models, and with 3rd-party vendors and integrators
  • Ideal exposure to .NET or Java, and Azure or other cloud providers
