Our Digital Design team plays a crucial role in achieving this goal by designing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

The successful candidate will lead by example, inspiring their design team and collaborating with cross-functional squads to drive planning, research, ideation, design, and execution. A key aspect of this role is creating high-quality digital experiences for Coles Group mobile platforms, prioritizing accessibility and compelling designs that cater to our customers' needs.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Product Designer to take on a leadership role within our Digital Design team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading customer-led product design approaches, exploring human problems via journey maps and personas, and creating wireframes and prototypes to validate designs through user testing.
  • Aligning design output with the Coles Customer Experience Strategy, Business Strategy, and Digital Strategy.
  • Collaborating closely with product and technology delivery teams to ensure experiences are desirable, feasible, and viable.
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration with product and engineering teams.
  • SUPPORTING MANAGERS TO BUILD UP THE DESIGN CAPABILITY WITHIN THE DESIGN AND DIGITAL EXPERIENCE TEAM.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong experience as a UX/Product designer or similar, with extensive skills in journey mapping, concept development, wireframe design, UI creation, prototype development, and user testing and facilitation.
  • At least 2+ years' experience supporting digital channels for large, complex organizations requiring stakeholder management.
  • At least 2+ years' experience in project leadership or team mentoring.
  • Solid experience designing for apps with a deep understanding of Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design, along with the ability to create rapid, low-fi through to high-fi prototypes and iterate.
  • Experience in communicating and rationalizing design decisions alongside feasibility.
  • A demonstrated capability in creating wireframes, UI and interactive prototypes; & providing developers a clear picture of what we are looking to create.
  • Skilled in translating business process and customer behaviors/insights into design concepts.

This is a full-time role offering a competitive salary range of AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with flexible working options, office perks, discounts, recognition opportunities, and investment in your future through career development programs and job-specific training.
