Bid Manager Role

Commercial bid managers play a pivotal role in ensuring successful project delivery by fostering strong relationships with clients and navigating complex contractual aspects.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional negotiation skills, enabling them to drive the bid team towards achieving their goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Negotiating contracts and commercial agreements with clients to ensure alignment with bid strategy.
  • Evaluating risks and opportunities, identifying mitigation strategies, and developing response plans to safeguard the project's interests.
  • Ensuring that bid documentation meets both internal and external requirements, guaranteeing seamless contract management at tender stage.
  • Establishing effective contract and claim management systems during the tender process.
  • Providing accurate handovers to the project execution team, including order entry calculations and comprehensive documentation of changes made during the tender stage.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A proven track record in commercial bid management and contract administration, preferably in infrastructure projects.
  • Rail experience is highly valued.
  • Experience leading teams and demonstrating inspirational leadership qualities.
  • Familiarity with working in multinational environments.
  • Demonstrated analytical, self-motivated, and teamwork abilities, coupled with excellent communication skills.
  • The capacity to thrive in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
