Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Regional Resource program, focusing on Foster Care and Adoption Preservice. This role will play a vital part in ensuring children and youth in care have access to safe, supportive, and well-prepared foster and adoptive homes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting regional recruitment initiatives, developing and delivering public information sessions, and engaging potential applicants in a timely and professional manner.

  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans targeting prospective foster and adoptive families.
  • Collaborate with regional colleagues to implement recruitment campaigns and outreach strategies.
  • Assess applications and provide guidance to applicants throughout the preservice process.
  • Manage inquiries and maintain accurate records and documentation for all applicants.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across the province.

Qualifications and Experience

A completed Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work is required, as well as a valid driver's license and eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW).

Additionally, the successful candidate will be a strong team player, empowered to impact change, compassionate, reliable, and resourceful.
