Family Preservation and Reunification Practitioner

About this role:

This position is situated in a regional area, supporting families and communities. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team focused on preventing at-risk children entering or re-entering care.

The Victorian Family Preservation and Reunification Program aims to provide intensive intervention and sustained service support to families. The program will link with existing child and family services, providing an enhanced continuum of care across the state.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of a cohesive team, reporting directly to the FPR Practice Leader.
  • To support young parents and their families with complex needs, using strengths-based and child-centered family-focused theoretical models.

Key Selection Criteria include:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related subject area.
  • Significant work experience in a relevant field, working with vulnerable populations.

Preferred Knowledge/Experience includes:

  • Child development research and its application in treatment.
  • Experience working with family preservation and reunification models.
