Asset Reliability Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to drive system improvements, data-led decisions, and real operational outcomes in the field of asset reliability. This is a key role driving reliability across critical rollingstock assets.

  • Develop and review asset class strategies across new and existing rollingstock assets, identifying opportunities for improvement and informing capital planning.
  • Act as the key user and subject matter expert for the enterprise asset management system (Hexagon EAM), ensuring its optimal use and configuration.
  • Analyse failure data to drive improvements in reliability, inform capital scoping, and optimise maintenance workflows.
  • Lead the workflow improvement project within Hexagon EAM, championing system integration opportunities and enhancing overall performance.
  • Provide configuration governance to support project delivery and asset readiness, ensuring seamless integration with other systems and processes.
  • Mentor planners and maintenance staff on effective workflow and system use, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Review and contribute to the maintenance work management standard across the business, promoting best practices and consistency.
  • Work collaboratively across disciplines to lift the maturity and consistency of asset reliability, driving positive outcomes and exceptional performance.
Requirements
  • A background in maintenance or reliability engineering, with at least 3 years' experience in a heavy industry environment, preferably with a focus on asset reliability and maintenance planning.
  • Strong experience using and configuring CMMS or EAM systems (Hexagon preferred but not essential), with a deep understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement techniques, including root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering and operational teams, influencing outcomes and driving collaborative working practices.
  • Systems-thinking approach, combined with excellent communication and documentation skills, to ensure seamless information exchange and cohesive team effort.
  • Relevant trade qualification, diploma, or degree, ideally in a related field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering.
