Job Overview

The role of Site Manager involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of a construction project. This includes managing site personnel, subcontractors, and materials to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: Develop and implement project plans, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Resource Management: Manage site resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all work is carried out to the required quality standards, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Client Communication: Liaise with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on project progress, and address any concerns or queries they may have.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate site teams to achieve project goals, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations, as well as excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Certifications and Qualifications: Relevant certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2, and qualifications in construction management or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects, with experience in site management, supervision, or leadership roles.
