The Opportunity

Sephora is a leading beauty retailer with circa 34 stores across Australia and New Zealand, a growing online platform, and plans to expand year on year.

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing a specific category or categories, acting as their custodian and champion.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Track omni-channel category performance, executing and implementing programs per category strategies, and monitoring new trends, brands, merchandising programs, and ad-hoc strategies to optimize category growth and performance.
  • Negotiate trading terms with brands, develop annual brand plans, and ensure relevant assortment for each brand in accordance with set productivity measures.
  • Work with brands on launch plans, manage sell-in processes, liaise with departments to ensure strong launch plans and execution, and manage digital brand and category pages.
  • Plan animation slots, negotiate check-out sampling, plan animation thematics, and negotiate in-store mechanics/promotions to drive sales.
  • Monitor and measure brand performance against category sales and profitability benchmarks, conduct half-yearly rationalization of brands and assortment, and execute launch plans for new brands.
  • Manage floorplan, store openings, and renovations, ensuring assigned brand placement meets category principles, and work with brands on fixtures, stocks, and merchandising.
  • Develop logical planograms, review stock holding with supply chain, propose action plans for high stockholding SKUs, and coordinate deliveries to meet launch dates and campaigns.

We're Looking for Someone Who

  • Has at least 8 years of Account/Brand Management experience, ideally from the beauty/fashion industry.
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing.
  • Has excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Displays strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence.
  • Is result-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Has a keen interest in the beauty industry with a flair for trends and style.
  • Excels in spoken and written English.
