About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Administrative Assistant to join our team at the Private Consulting Suites, located at the Mercy Hospital for Women. As a key member of our administrative support staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the office area, providing excellent customer service, and consistently producing high-quality communication with patients, doctors, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Login to relevant practice management software to manage appointments and doctor clinics.
  • Meet and greet patients as their first point of contact and handle patient enquiries.
  • Answer telephones and direct calls in a timely manner and appropriately.
  • Provide administrative support to nominated doctors, including issuing accounts, processing payments, and reconciling daily banking.
  • Maintain stock of medical consumables and notify staff of any requirements or changes.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties, including diagnostic services, Medicare, and health fund organizations.
  • Support team members with opening and closing procedures, daily administration, and additional duties as requested.
  • Exercise confidentiality in regard to patient care and all aspects of the Private Consulting Suites.

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
