About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Risk and Compliance Manager to join our team at Link Group. As a key member of our Risk and Compliance function, you will play a critical role in leading and pioneering the risk and compliance agenda for Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Focus
    • Develop a comprehensive risk and compliance strategy for Technology, ensuring the safeguarding of our infrastructure, software, and processes.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain a regulatory compliance framework for technology and data, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
    • Establish and oversee the Group Compliance Framework for technology and data, ensuring consistency across the organisation.
    • Provide independent oversight of technology risk management practices within the organisation.
    • Provide risk insights and recommendations to support the development and implementation of technology strategies.
    • Establish and maintain a robust vendor risk management framework for 3rd party technology vendors.
  • Operational Management
    • Monitor and report on compliance risks and issues related to technology and data.
    • Provide support to Line 1 on Incident management, escalations, and root cause analysis.
    • Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures specific to technology and data.
    • Develop and implement an approach for the identification and assessment of emerging risks and systemic issues for technology and data.
    • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of technology controls and frameworks.
    • Provide 2nd line oversight to our technology teams, and for all data governance related activities.
    • Conduct regular reviews of technology strategy, policies, procedures, and data management, identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities.
    • Act as the primary risk management liaison to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
    • Collaborate with the Chief Technology Officer to identify, assess, and mitigate technology risks within the organisation.
    • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact to technology and data management.
    • Ensure that technology projects and initiatives are aligned with the organisation's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
    • Report on risk exposures, limits, risk appetite, risk profile, controls, issues, incidents, and actions to the Chief Risk Officer, relevant committees, and the Board Risk Committee.
    • Assess and monitor vendor compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify potential risks of new business initiatives and implementing strategies to mitigate their impact.
    • Work closely with the Chief Risk Officer and the broader Risk & Compliance Senior Leadership Team to oversee the Group's response to emergencies, ensuring appropriate measures, processes, and controls are in place to manage and mitigate the impact of incidents.
    • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and risk assessments.
  • People Leadership
    • Work closely with IT, Risk and Compliance, Legal, Finance, Retirement Solutions leadership team, and Corporate Markets leadership team function globally to support the ongoing improvement of the Group's technology risk and data risk maturity.
    • Collaborate and partner with internal departments to align technology and data Risk & Compliance activities to business objectives.
    • Actively grow, embed, and sustain a high-performing culture and capability across the business and role model the Link Group values.
  • Governance & Risk
    • Develop processes for tracking and reporting compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of data governance frameworks and controls.
    • Provide guidance and support to business units on technology risk management and data governance best practices and standards.
    • Communicate technology risk policies to relevant stakeholders and ensure adherence across the organisation.
    About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Senior Risk and Compliance Manager who has:

  • 10+ years' experience as a Risk & Compliance leader who has developed high-performing teams and led teams across various jurisdictions.
  • 15 years' experience in risk management and compliance with a focus on technology and data management.
  • Previous experience with the development and implementation of AI Governance Frameworks is desirable.
  • An analytical mindset and ability to derive insights using risk and operational data.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and assessing controls and assurance practices.
  • A strong track record in leadership and developing an operational risk culture, where risk is everyone's responsibility.
  • An experienced and skilled communicator at all levels, who clearly leads, inspires confidence, influences, and motivates others within a global matrixed environment.
  • Experience in effective integration of an acquired business into a Group and significant change management initiatives.
  • High levels of problem-solving ability, with clear decision-making skills that can analyse complex information, in a way that drives resolution across a global business line.
  • Practical experience in balancing local regulatory requirements within a group construct, ability to understand and satisfy needs of both local, regulated entities in multiple jurisdictions and the parent company.
  • Qualifications in Information Technology, Risk Management, Business, Commerce, or a related field are desirable but not essential, combined with ongoing professional development, such as post-graduate or vocational study.
