Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Amazon Full time

POSITION SUMMARY

At Amazon, our mission is to be the most customer-focused organization globally. We are dedicated to enhancing the customer experience, particularly in the fulfillment and delivery of their orders. Our objective is to surpass customer expectations by ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of orders, regardless of size. To achieve this, Amazon is continuously innovating and delivering exceptional service levels through the introduction of groundbreaking products and services in the last mile delivery sector. A key component of this initiative is Amazon Flex, which collaborates with independent contractors—known as delivery partners—to facilitate deliveries. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in innovative practices while significantly improving the experience for both Amazon customers and Delivery Partners.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Compliance Risk Manager, you will be instrumental in representing Amazon Flex during conciliation sessions with the Australian Fair Work Commission (FWC) and other labor arbitration entities. Your responsibilities will encompass case intake and management, alongside close collaboration with our legal team and enforcement personnel to mitigate risks, prepare case documentation, and propose strategic resolutions.

2. **Legal Collaboration and Risk Management**
- Work alongside legal, enforcement, and policy teams to evaluate and address risks related to labor disputes, compliance challenges, and regulatory shifts.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of claims, available evidence, and potential consequences of pursuing arbitration to guide strategic decisions.
- Provide insights to internal and external legal advisors regarding the specifics of SLS and FACT enforcement.
- Offer feedback to enforcement program leaders to enhance proactive risk management initiatives.

3. **Case Documentation and Management**
- Collect, organize, and maintain detailed case files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
- Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence with the support of the Flex I&O team, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to bolster case preparation and defense.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external legal counsel to synchronize case strategies and timelines.

4. **Risk Assessment and Strategic Development**
- Collaborate with PC2 to identify emerging risks, regulatory trends, and arbitration outcomes that could affect the company's operations, policies, and employee relations.
- Develop proactive risk management strategies and policy recommendations to minimize legal exposure and enhance compliance.
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on best practices for representing Amazon as a 'witness' in arbitration settings.

5. **Compliance Monitoring and Reporting**
- Oversee adherence to internal policies related to the Digital Labour Platform Deactivation Code (DLDP), identifying areas for enhancement or corrective measures.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and legal teams on enforcement-related risks, trends, and outcomes from conciliation and arbitration.
