Community Disaster Program Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Disaster Program Manager to join our team at the American Red Cross. As a key member of our disaster response and recovery team, you will be responsible for leading and managing disaster cycle services activities in assigned geographic areas, including preparedness, response, and recovery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage disaster cycle services activities, including preparedness, response, and recovery, in assigned geographic areas.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage and mobilize communities, partners, and stakeholders to prepare for and respond to disasters.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and address gaps in disaster response and recovery efforts.
- Manage and develop a team of disaster volunteers, including training and capacity building, to ensure effective implementation of disaster cycle services activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, partners, and stakeholders to promote the American Red Cross mission and goals.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop plans to address disaster-related needs in assigned geographic areas.
- Provide technical assistance and support to disaster response and recovery efforts, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as emergency management, disaster response, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in disaster response and recovery, including experience in leading and managing teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel, as needed.
- Experience working with rural and smaller communities.
- Knowledge of disaster response and recovery principles and practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing disaster preparedness and response plans.
