Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to lead our disaster resilience and risk reduction grant funding programs in South Australia. As a key member of our Emergency Management team, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, monitoring, and reporting on our grant programs, ensuring they meet the needs of our stakeholders and contribute to the reduction of disaster risk and building of resilience in our community.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in emergency management, grant writing, and program management. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing policy, procedures, guidelines, grant agreements, and forms to support our grant programs;
  • Monitoring and reviewing grant programs and processes to identify areas for improvement;
  • Identifying and implementing improvement processes to enhance the effectiveness of our grant programs;
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and emergency services organizations, to ensure our grant programs meet their needs and contribute to the reduction of disaster risk and building of resilience;
  • Providing regular reports to stakeholders on the progress and outcomes of our grant programs.

SAFECOM is the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission, responsible for ensuring that volunteers and employees within the fire and emergency services sector are provided with the resources and support they need to carry out their vital work. We work closely with our emergency services organizations, including the South Australian Country Fire Service, the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service, and the South Australian State Emergency Service, to deliver our services and programs.
