About the Role

Hudson Australia is seeking a highly skilled EL1 Grants Policy Officer to join our team in a leadership role. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support on grant policies and processes to our staff.

This pivotal role offers an opportunity to lead a small team and shape the strategic direction of grant administration within our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Provide leadership and mentoring to a small team of professionals, guiding them in their roles and responsibilities.
  • Strategic Advice: Offer strategic advice and strategies to ensure compliance with Commonwealth Grant obligations, ensuring that our organization meets its regulatory requirements.
  • Grant Policy Advice: Deliver routine specialist grant policy advice and guidance to various business areas, providing expert knowledge and support.
  • Reporting: Prepare routine and ad hoc reports on grant matters, including non-compliance, to ensure that our organization is aware of any issues or concerns.
  • Representation: Participate in external forums and consultative groups to represent our department, building relationships and networks with key stakeholders.
  • Grants Administration: Oversee the administration of new and existing grants in Grant Connect and internal systems, ensuring that all grants are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Networks and Relationships: Build and maintain networks and relationships with the Community Grants Hub, Business Grants Hub, and Department of Finance, ensuring that our organization is aware of any changes or updates to grant policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Extensive Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and experience in Australian Government grant practices, with a thorough understanding of related policies.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with experience in team leadership and mentoring.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
